Why a local Russian eSIM beats roaming
A local eSIM puts your phone on a Russian network the way a resident's phone is. There is no roaming partner in the middle, so you get a fixed price for the whole plan instead of a surprise bill.
- Real local network: Beeline and MTS, connected directly in Russia.
- Unlimited data: no counting gigabytes for maps, translation, messaging, ride apps and video calls.
- No roaming bills: you pay once, online, before you travel.
- Set up at home: install the eSIM on your own Wi-Fi, then land connected.
Planning matters here. Since 2022 many Western mobile carriers have restricted or stopped roaming in Russia, and Visa and Mastercard cards issued outside Russia generally do not work inside the country. That makes it sensible to sort out mobile data, and to pay for it, before you fly.
Choose a plan
Plans run from 3 to 30 days, all with unlimited data. Prices below are live.
How it works
- Choose a plan and pay. Secure card payment takes under a minute.
- Get your QR code instantly. It appears on screen right away, and a copy is emailed to you.
- Scan and connect. Install the eSIM before you travel; it connects automatically when you arrive in Russia. Step-by-step install guide.
Is your phone compatible?
You need an eSIM-capable phone that is not locked to a carrier. The quickest check: open the phone app, dial *#06# and look for a number labelled EID. If you see one, your phone supports eSIM.
As a rule of thumb, eSIM is supported on iPhone XS and XR (2018) and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, and recent Samsung Galaxy S, Z and Note models. Always confirm with the EID check, and make sure the phone is unlocked.
